Some people suggest that bringing up children by the whole family including uncles, aunts and grandparents is better, rather than only by parents. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give your opinion and examples. There has been much discussion revolving around whether raising a child by his extended family or merely by his parents is more beneficial. While this trend has many advantages for parents and their charges, I would argue that its merits pale into insignificance by its demerits. Grandparents and other family member can provide whole-hearted support in shouldering the burden of upbringing a child. To start with, grandparents are trustworthy caretakers since they have a wealth of experience in nurturing their own offspring and they can impart their wisdom and pave the hardships. Moreover, if had the parents shared the nurturing tasks with their relatives, they would provide them with the opportunity to bond and develop a close and harmonious relationship with their extended family. These children are more likely to be family-oriented and appreciative of the value of a close-knit family. Apart from the aforementioned merits, this trend has some drawbacks as well. One of the important factors in rearing children is to have a unique discipline and attitude. That is to say, the more people interfere in rearing a child, the more various virtues will be introduced to them. Consequently, children will be bewildered by various rules which could negatively affect their ability to distinguish between wrong and right. In addition, grandparents and other relatives tend to be over indulgent and refrain from punishing their grandchildren for their mistakes due to their kindness which would spoil children. In conclusion, although grandparents and whole family members can play an active and positive role in up bringing up a child, I opine that the this responsibility of rearing the child lies with their the parents and have having a singleunique parenting method/approach is more beneficial for families.
