Although parents are responsible for raising a child, outside influences play a key role in their development. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give your own opinion. One of the main responsibilities of paring is upbringing, and while an overwhelming majority of parents try to teach their children the right way of living, children are mostly under external effects far from what their parents’ expectations. The author of this short essay tries to put the spotlight on this heated debate. Undoubtedly, children are considered the most valuable asset of parents, and while a vast majority of parents expect their youths to become a decent member of society, many a child does not follow their parents guidelines. This is not, in fact, neither parents fault nor the kids. In other words, that the media, cyberspace, and children’s counterparts play a significant role in children’s future is an indisputable fact. Spending a great deal of their time at their workplace, a wide range of parents do not spend time with their child, hence their limited effect on their kids. Furthermore, the attraction of modern entertainment and social media is so high that hardly can parents can detach their child from such an exciting world. It goes without saying that not only does can this much of intimacy with the unreal world can lead children into trouble, but it also can loosen their emotional bond with their parents. Only when parents succeed in establishing a strong relationship with their children, can they expect their children to follow what they ask. Despite the huge investment of time and effort made by most parents, children choose their ways mainly by external motives. Gone are the days when children prioritized their parents wish rather than their own. Though scarcely can many parents can accept this fact, I maintain that it is high time we accepted this otherwise respectful choice.
