In many countries, the amount of crime is increasing. What do you think are the main causes of crime? How can we deal with those causes? Countries, especially the third world ones, have witnessed an increasingly upward trend in amount of illegal behavior in last few years. From my vantage point, there are many crucial factors, participating in this phenomenon, few of which are poverty, unemployment and drugs. In the following paragraphs, the mentioned reasons for felonies rise will be elaborated more fully before I suggest some solutions to resolve this problem. On the one hand, I believe that committing a crime rooted in many issues. Most important of which is poverty. To exemplify, imagine an extremely poor person, whose life is full of difficulties and obsessions, dying out of hunger,. how could he survive this situation without infraction of the law? From his point of view, not only is stealing a piece of bread not a crime, but also he feels that he is completely entitled to this bread as a small piece of his share from society. On the other hand, the people using drugs are much more prone to do any unlawful act since they have already lost their minds while they are doing it. Hardly a week goes by without a news from raping or holding people hostage by drug- addicted individuals. Surprisingly, when these people commit some crimes, they barely able to remember what they have done the next morning. Hence lack of security in society. To begin to tackle this situation the burden of responsibility lies in the hands of governments as the statistics have shown that the crime rate is considerably lower in countries, whose GDP(Gross Domestic Product) is higher and also have an efficient social welfare supports system/scheme for their citizens. To make my point crystal clear, if the government supports the needy and unemployed people properly, at least for their basic needs, obviously less crime would be committed. Furthermore, strict regulations can definitely deter criminals from committing crimes whose punishments are extremely intolerable. Last but not least, the authorities can inform people about possible consequences of illegal acts through different types of advertisements. The more people hear about these facts, the less they would do them.At last, that the crime rate has experienced a drastic rise in last years is highly correlated with poor economic conditions and inappropriate environment. Therefore, clearly it is on governments to address this problem by increasing social welfare level and imposing sever rules and punishments.
