Some people think that all university students should study whatever they like. Others believe that they should only be allowed to study subjects that will be useful in the future, such as those related to science and technology. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion. There are two different opinions considering that whether students should study their own desired topics in university or they should only study subjects which lead them to excellent job opportunities in future like those related to science and technology. I believe both groups have good reasons to defend their points of views. Nowadays, with this fast pace of life, modernity and continues continuous progresses in technology, we are living in the a world of competition. People are working so hard proving for themselves in their society, country even all over the world. Having a noble occupation is everyone’s dream which media and broadcast intense intensify this desire even more than that of the society. Intentionally or not, this fact has urged us to get involved in this great competition. This can be a reasonable motivation for students to choose their study subjects in university based on their possible future professions. On the other hand many people believe that students need to find their majors based on their interests which may not be necessarily in the fields which have had impressive opportunities for them in future. As we all know, majors such as art, social sciences and athletics not only are low positions in the public view, but also they are less likely end to in brilliant successful careers. The majority of students who follow the mentioned subjects in university believe that they are better off following their dreams than thinking about handsome salaries or special social positions. However, after a while when they face the ups and downs of life, they may change their mind and feel more disappointed comparing themselves with the other group. In conclusion, both groups study and work hard but it is the a reality that the former can be more successful than the latter. As far as I am concerned, there is a way to prevent any disappointment by helping students to find their talents first and not just choose their university subjects by heart. If teachers and parents help them to considering their abilities logically they can rely on any field they choose. In that case even the latter group would be at the top as would the formers.
