Many people make friends through social sites and chat rooms. Others believe that it is not a good idea to make friends without meeting them face to face. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give your own opinion and relevant examples. The Internet and computers have changed many aspects in our life among which and among all these changes, forming and developing a friendship have been affected by this phenomenon more than others. Now, after almost three decades, there is a debate between those who want to find their friends in person and who believe in the virtual world. Firstly, it seems that people usually tend to show a more superior image of themselves in social media. The experience has proofed proved that we usually endeavour to manifest ourselves as perfect as we can and invent a pleasant story about ourselves and in these days, computer technologies are helpful/beneficial assistant really. People use some software applications to modifying and improveing their appearances and some websites like the Instagram have prepared simple tools for giving beauty to our faces. Moreover, apart from physical appearance, it is so mindless that people copy and paste excitingement and literal literary phrases into their homepage and pose as intellectual persons, while outside of the virtual world, they are superficial. Secondly, as a human character, we usually make a perfect picture of everything stuff that we have not meet closely. Therefore, in the case of making friends from social media, before the first encounter, we create an idealistic person, both in appearance and manner and it would be a shocking moment when we meet these virtual friends in the real world, a moment that we have to confront realities. In conclusion, while social media and virtual networks have simplified the process of finding friends for some people, usually shy and with low self-esteem, it seems that these technologies still have a long way to suit the real human real needs.
