Cambridge IELTS 10 - Test 4 Some parents buy their children a large number of toys to play with. What are the advantages and disadvantages for the child of having a large number of toys? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. Many toys are provided by a group of parents for their kids. It's a phenomenon which has its own pros and cons. In my opinion those children who have more toys to play with my pay less attention to and show interest in to their belongings and even ask for more facilities as they get got used to that trend for a long time. A group of fathers and mothers are thinking that they can provide happiness for their children by buying more playing toys/playthings for them. Actually, some of parents try to compensate the shortages which they had in their own childhood through spending much money for their children and providing them with what they had the dream of it before. According to new findings, more than 45 percent of those kids who are surrounded by faced to many facilities and convenience do not understand the importance of living with low expectations and even they have an insatiable psychological appetite for having more and more. Another negative points mentioned saying about those children are that they do not understand the value of /appreciate money and even worse this habit is destructive for the ability of concentration. On the other hand, some of education consultants believe that in this case, not only do the children have more choices to paly play by themselves, but also they can share their belongings with their friends and learn some kind of team work skills. For instance, when I was a child, we had a neighbor who was rich and most of the time their son, who was the same age as me, invited me to their house for playing with him and sometimes he has lent their toys to me./we had a neighbor whose son who was my age invited me ….. In conclusion, I would argue that parents should spendt a reasonable amount of money for buying their children toys and be aware about the outcome of their manners.
