Some people think that a sense of competition in children should be encouraged. Others believe that children who are taught to co-operate rather than compete become more useful adults. This is undeniable fact that every parent would prefer their children to use the best of their time in order to achieve success and make a prosperous career in their future life. They spare no efforts to achieve this goal. Encouraging children to compete with their peers is one of the traditional methods. However, there are some who believe that some other methods such as preparing and training them for cooperation is are more beneficial and has have more effective result. Encouraging children to compete with their peers has a number of advantages. For example, it may help children to spend most of their time for beneficent activities such as studying and learning useful skills. This behavior would help them to become productive adults in the future. Moreover, this trend would help parents to make sure that their children would not lose their time for bootless useless/fruitless activity. however, having said that, the sense of competition could have rewarding impact until it is not considered as children’s rivalry. It is true to say that children often watch their parent’s parents’ behavior and imitate them. Therefore, if parents are always vying with each other for luxuries, this may have negative impact on them. On the other hand, in the modern world the great impact of the teamwork in order to achieving achieve individual and social success is vividly clear for everyone and children need to know how to work in groups to achieve a mutual goal and how to work as a team. therefore, these days schools have a special plan to encourage and strengthen the sense of cooperation and parents try to involve their children in the activity that need coordination with others such as sport team. In conclusion, although competition among children does not necessarily lead to promotion and a successful life, it could have its positive impact on children’s progress if the parents guides this sense in the right direction. It is notable that children need to be trained from an early age to learn social activities and teamwork, and cooperation plays an important role in their future success.
