these days more fathers stay at home and take care of their children while mothers go out to work. what could be the reason for this? is it a positive or negative development? Increasing in rates, working mothers are playing new roles in families nowadays. With fathers becoming more eager to look after their children at home, mothers are now, due to many reasons, the ones working long hours outside, and I am of the view that this is undoubtedly a positive change in modern societies. One of the main reasons why this phenomenon has occurred in families is that the elimination of women’s underrepresentation in society has provided them with more educational and job opportunities. Therefore, the stereotypes that defined mothers somedays no longer fit the present-day society.Once poor mothers, who were merely supporting their husbands through performing menial tasks of life, are now more educated and subsequently more qualified to attain prominent positions. Being offered well-paid jobs, women find no reason to resist their desire to pursue a successful career, especially when their husbands are immensely supportive, bearing the majority of responsibilities at home. In other words, with less education and employment discriminations against women, they tend to afford pay for their families’ expenses in the same way as men used to. Therefore, the financial security brought about by women’s new conditions could be regarded as a persuasive reason for men adopting such new roles. Moreover, although fathers may have a hard job looking after their children, I believe that a better society will be built by women being involved in activities other than house chores or children's upbringing. In other words, supporting them as the new breadwinners, not only we grant them more life satisfaction and higher levels of self-esteem, butalso encourage gender quality, balance, and freedom in our society. In conclusion, the bias against stay-at-home fathers and working mothers is no longer a problem/an issue in many modern families owing to women having better chances of education and pursuing anything they aspire to, a development that gradually leads to a more just society.
