Some people believe they should keep all the money they have earned and should not pay tax to the state. Do you agree or disagree? While many members of society hold the idea that the government should not tax people, others believe that paying an appropriate amount of income to the government can pave the way for a better society where people from all social strata can have a minimum standard of living. This short essay elaborates my viewpoint regarding this heated debate. Today, most of us are living in communities where we can benefit from what have been provided by tax revenue. Perhaps an overwhelming majority of the populace, especially those living in rural areas face a bleak future if people stop paying their social-financial responsibility called/otherwise known as tax. Scarcely can governments provide individuals services such as free education, health care or welfare for those who cannot afford such basic services. Thanks to the free-basic education or scholarships for higher education provided by the tax payers the crime rate in many a society has dramatically decreased. Having said that, the opponents claim that being charged by the government is not fair. In fact, they reason why people have to pay part of their income to the government? . They are working hard to provide their loved ones with an acceptable standard of living, but they have to pay a large portion of their income to the government as tax. In other words, this group of people reason/argue that people have to shoulder their own responsibility by themselves, and if they cannot afford a facility in is not incumbent upon others to provide it. From what has been discussed above, I can say that the advantages of paying tax based can far outweigh the disadvantages if logical policies support the tax laws. Though it may seem like an unfair law, it can lead a society to a community where/in which most of the members of society can benefit from the facilities fairly. I strongly believe that it is gone are the days when free education and health care were a privilege. It is high time we defined them as a right.
