It is important for children to learn the difference between right and wrong at an early age. Punishment is necessary to help them learn this distinction. To what extent… What sort of punishment should parents and teachers be allowed to use to teach good behavior to children? Over the time, children nurturing has constantly been one of the most vitally psychological issues. Accordingly, hardly a day goes by without hearing about new books and articles publishing in relation to correct principles to children cultivating and how parents can punish their children. From my point of view, punishment, in an efficiently structured way, is an inevitable phenomenon to raise a child provided that it is not corporal punishment. To begin with, distinguishing right from wrong at an early age is crucial. In fact, not only does it affect an individual’s childhood, but also it can give rise to significant effects on their future, because a large proportion of individuals’ cognitive development and their personality have formed during this pivotal age. Moreover, since pupils are less mature to understand the concept of bad or good precisely, they can benefit from parental advices and tutorial guidance to being aware of the meaning of what they do. It can be inconceivably efficient. Tto the extent that pupils can easily imitate whatever they see, without any grasp of tasks’ content, for example imitation of verbal abuse or inappropriate words, hence the importance of parent’s and tutor’s aid. On the other hand, in this way, punishment is seemingly imperative. It should be said that punishment can lead to the proper distinction in that positive and negative image of a task permeates children’s mind. In addition, punishment which is taken into account should not be harmful for kids physically and mentally. Unfortunately, many an individual have suffered from the lasting effects of penalties during their childhood. Therefore, some punishments like avoiding from taking her to the playground, awarding chocolates and toys and playing video game can be accepted. Besides, parents and teachers should let children know about why they are impeded from these facilities. Taking everything into consideration, I personally opine that although punishment is an effective way which can help children to detect differentiation right from wrong, it should be constructive and trivial. It means only when punishment can work efficiently, does it just tempt children to gain morality properly.
