Some people think that it is best to encourage children to leave their family home as soon as possible. Others believe children should stay at the family home for as long as they like. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. At what age children can leave their parents’ home has once again come under the spotlight making many people think about it. While a majority of members of society hold the idea that it is to the benefit of both children and society not to leave home until a certain age, the opponents strongly argue that the sooner they leave home the sooner they can find their role in their society. Many children in western families prefer to live on their own as soon as they succeeded to become financially independent. This independence, though pleasant, has its own drawbacks, and perhaps the most significant disadvantage of it is the unlimited freedom children experience. Lived Living under close control of parents for so many years, children may get involved in wrongdoing if they are not matured enough. Substance abuse, binge drinking and unplanned pregnancy are notable examples of potentially dangerous threats targeting teenagers who are not living with their parents. On the other hand, leaving parents’ place as early as the age of consent is not that much horrible. It provides children with a myriad of priceless opportunities to experience the reality of life, hence its importance. Scarcely can those who live with their parents experience what life means. Not only does living independently empower children financially, but it also paves the way forward for a stronger emotional personality. To cut a long story short, my vote as an adult who was born and bred in an eastern valued culture goes to leave parents’ home after the age of consent. Only when children start living alone at an early age, can we expect to have adults who learnt how to stand on their feet before their thirties. Nonetheless, the remote intangible control of parents over children as an invaluable factor at play should not be overlooked.
