Nowadays people waste a lot of food that was bought from shops and restaurants. Why do you think people waste food? What can be done to reduce the amount of food they throw away? These days a good deal of edible food delivered to supermarkets or restaurant is wasted by the public across the globe. This profligacy in food waste plays a crucial role in harming the environment, let aloneapart from the financial losses this contributes. When it comes to this heated debate, I hold the idea that raising the public awareness besides some simple practical solutions can reduce this amount of wastage dramatically. The hectic pace of life especially in large cities rarely allows the public to cook regularly, thereby increasing the number of individuals ordering their meals to the restaurants. The amount of food an in different restaurants varies, and owing to the fierce competition in this market people may change their restaurant to try a new taste with of course an unpredictable volume of food. In most cases newly opened food shops sell a higher volume to attract more customers which regrettably in most cases one third of it winds up in a the landfill. Fortunately, in many restaurants recently specific containers are available allowing customers to collect their leftover. This simple solution has succeeded to in decrease decreasing an acceptable portion of food waste in restaurants. Many shops nowadays sell the remains of their edible commodities to the specific restaurants where the chefs cook delicious foods with lower prices. This type of low-priced food is becoming more and more acceptable especially amongst the youth not only because of its reasonable price, but mainly due to the benefits it brings about to both the economy and the environment. To cut a long story short, I believe officials can play a major role in reduction of food waste. Only when the populace are aware of the irreparable damages they are causing, can we expect to see the reduction of the current rate of waste in food. That continuation of this trend can lead into a global disaster is an indisputable fact.
