Some people believe that allowing children to make their own choices on everyday matters (such as food, clothes and entertainment) is likely to result in a society of individuals who only think about their own wishes. Other people believe that it is important for children to make decisions about matters that affect them. Discuss both these views and give your opinion. Giving freedom to children is a sensitive issue which has provoked many discussions. There is a basic contradiction between people who believe allowing children to make their own decision result in selfish individuals and others who think that it is important for children to make decisions about matters that affect them. I personally believe that parents neither should neither give absolute freedom to children for making all decisions nor restrict them strongly. There must be a balance between their age and their freedom. Some people think having more selection power and freedom for children in every aspect of their life cause creates selfish people in future. They emphasise just to their own desire and can notcannot adapt with to the other people. On the other hand, there is opposition with this point of view, .some people strongly agree with the opinion that allowing children to make their own decision has many advantages. The first and foremost is by allowing your children to have input in some of the minor decisions, they can begin to feel important and have confidence in their abilities to do so. Secondly, By allowing your children to help decide on entertainment or snack types, you give them a place in the family where they realize their voices are heard. From something as simple as deciding which flavor of ice cream to buy, they can feel like they are a part of the family more so than merely being present. Another point is feeling personal delight, that you can see it in your child’s eyes for example when you tell them they can pick what movie the family will watch that night. Moreover, not all decisions can be met with a successful experience. Parents should teach children to learn from previous experiences. they needs to learn that not all decisions have a good and positive outcome and we learn from this process to make better decisions next time. Regarding all points mentioned above, I highly believe that parents should give children freedom consciously to learn teach them how to make decisions correctly for their life and accept their outcomes. Restriction is not kind of an ideal way of nurture.
