The quality of life in some cities is getting worse. What is the main cause of this and what solution can you suggest? It is true that the quality of life in many cities are is exacerbating. While there are numerous reasons contributing to these problems, it seems the government and municipality alike could take positive steps to tackle this problem. There are various reasons why cities are overwhelmingly confronted by worsening standards of living. Firstly, the population is in cities has been significantly soaring. While many educational centers, modern healthcare facilities, and promising job opportunities are housed (centered? positioned? Concentrated?) in the cities, we are witnessing a gradually growing tendency among the populace to leave villages and suburbs to for cities, which means residences access fewer amenities and resources than they did before. Secondly, pollution in cities has been a matter of concern. Exhaust fumes produced excessively by various means of transportation have led to many people being afflicteding by respiratory diseases such as asthma and bronchitis. Moreover, the constant sound of activity, roar of traffic, and the loud sound of entertainment devices blaring out of neighbors’ windows have caused damaging effects on both people’s mind and mental well-being. However, the deleterious impacts of these issues can be certainly addressed. To begin with, the government can motivate industries to move out of overly populated cities and establish their factories in the suburbs. This can be done by levying higher taxes on industries which operate in certain cities, for not only do these industries play a notably key role on in the overpopulation of cities, but also pollution is mainly and rightly considered the result of their activities. Furthermore, what city councils can do is introducing stricter rules for vehicle manufactures regarding fuel consumption, emission standards, and environmentally friendly auto parts. Future cities, if equipped with greener cars, would suffer less from the consequences of pollution. In conclusion, various reasons are ascribed to the deteriorating standards of living in cities, yet various measures can be taken to alleviate these negative impacts and make cities a superior place for accommodating citizens. Cities of future will be more likely to encounter greater and unsolvable difficulties, unless authorities start thinking ahead of these issues.
