Government investment in the arts, such as music and theatre, is a waste of money. Governments must invest this money in public services instead. To what extent do you agree with this statement These days, governments are willing to invest on in art-related industries while such a budget is able to be allocated to in communal supports. Yet there remains some disagreement as to whether such a trend should be regarded optimistically or pessimistically. While there are certainly valid arguments to the contrary, I personally believe that importance of public services should be equivalent of art industries or even occasionally should be more in terms of the government's support. First of all, it is an indisputable fact that public services which include/contain construction of hospitals, roads and schools are a testament to level of life in the societal term. The more time and expenses are allocated for communal services by governments, the more changes can be tangible in individuals' lifestyle. Although focusing on the mental and spiritual aspects of humankind which is significant in determining of the quality of life on the level of psychology, art industries should not be addressed to excess economically while scarcity of public services such as schools is able to revolutionize the future of the country negatively. Poor quality schools in villages are particularly a good example in this regard which pose crises related to unemployment and illiteracy. Equally importantly, however, the numbers of the poor in society have been linked to the quality of public services, hence, the vital role of governmental payments in such an influential factor. Admittedly, that the situation of art-based companies in terms of survival in such a price war is at in a high level of risk should not be neglected. To put this issue in perspective, if art companies such as cinemas or theatres were not provided with financial support of governments, they would be more likely to be closed. Nonetheless, I reaffirm that, focusing on people's fundamental needs which is symptomatic of quality of public services, governments should be aimed at development of art industries due to direct effect on humans' dwelling style. In conclusion, considering humankind's needs psychologically and physically, authorities should take steps in order to stem the tide of the problems related to cultural events and public services which gradually result in erecting a utopia. vahid
