TOPIC: Some businesses now say that no one can smoke cigarettes in any of their offices. Some governments have banned smoking in all public places. This is a good idea but it take away some of our freedom. Do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer. Smoking is proven to be deleterious not only for the smokers but also it has puts the a negative impact on passive smokers' health. The government has put restriction on smoking in the public places. The debate whether smoking should be banned in public places or not has become a controversial issue among business owners. I support what many governments and officials office authorities have done, though . Though, it might seem a violation of freedom to some extent in from smokers' point of view. There are several reasons that governments and private companies are being strict on smoking in offices and even public places. Firstly, no sensible person will deny that smoking leads to a number of health problems such as a higher risk of lung cancer and heart attacks. Secondly, smoking causes health hazards to non-smokers who inhale smoke passively from the smokers. Finally, smoking has a strongly psychologically influence on others, particularly on children and the young who learn from their elders elderly. The ban on smoking in offices and public places does not actually threaten people's s' freedom. They could be allowed to smoke only in designed designated areas away from the public. As smoking is the leading cause of respiratory diseases among the people, it is incumbent on the government to take required measures to protect people from the health dangers associated with passive smoking. Why should non-smokers should be bothered by the unhealthy lifestyle choices of smokers?! In conclusion, restrictions on smoking in workplaces and in public is a great idea. I can understand the opinion of smokers that banning smoking in such places limits their freedom. However, whereas I strongly support the idea of prohibiting smoking in any public place including offices. Ultimately, the banning should be implemented to save the non-smokers, smokers and as well as the environment.
