Many governments think that economic progress is their most important goal. Some people, however, think that other types of progress are equally important for a country. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion. It is obvious that humans have been seeking for wealth and welfare throughout history. The economic progress of a country can have straight influence on its citizens’ life if income parity existsgrants. In this regard, from my point of view, economic prosperity of a country takes precedence over (is much more important than) other types of progress. On the one hand, the advocates of the importance of economic progress believe that this issue influences every field of a society such as industry, agriculture, industrial, agricultural as well as educational and politicsal. An economically uplifted country not only has the power of conducting an import and export business over the world, but also it has authority of making decisions about world’s issues. Furthermore, it is crystal clear that economic development entails a better educational system. To this end, providing decent educational facilities leads to having an entrepreneurial society. On the other hand, the opponents of this view are strongly of the opinion that other types of progress like social, political and preserving cultural heritages must be considered. They argue that traditional rituals of a country could be perish by paying excessive attention to economic progress. Besides, there is not any correlation between political achievements and economic development. Providing a safe society requires both laws and an efficient political outlook. Personally, were I to opt for either sides of this controversy I would vote for the necessity of economic growth due to the facts mentioned above. Moreover, it can alleviate poverty and illiteracy provided that wealth is fairly distributed. fairly. To sum up, as the greater good of individuals is accommodating a decent life, economic development of a country is of paramount importance.
