Some people feel that the legal age at which people can marry should be at least 21. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Considering the sharp rate of divorce during the last two decades in my country, there have been a variety of approaches towards defining a certain age for marriage. One of them strongly recommends applying to apply some restrictions in order to increase the age of marriage to 21. This essay elaborates on the supporting standpoints with expressing my personal stance on this argument. Usually the couples under 21 are neither graduated nor have enough experience to get a proper job and because of this issue they are mostly financially dependent on to their parents. The limited sources of income usually leads their life into a battle field for the two families to become the dominant power. In most cases, the more wealthy the family, the more powerful it becomes that family become, and regrettably the richer family interferes in every detail of the young couple, and this will definitely result in serious problems like and divorce. Mental health experts claim that, the human brain requires certain time along with specific training like TA, transactional analysis, to have correct functions or else it will face with lots of dysfunctions and different kinds of mental disorders. On the other hand, the statistics show a dramatic rate of more than 75% of newly wed couples who married before 21 ended their marriage to divorce within five years. Based on this these statistics psychologists propose a minimum age of 21 for marriage and believe that people under 21 are not mentally mature to manage a common/shared life. Taking all things into account, I believe that due to too many much factors and criteria no one can set a certain age for marriage. I think couples in love couples must be consulted separately by marriage experts before matrimony marriage to avoid divorce and its respective emotional trauma.
